Gina is a senior manager in the healthcare consulting practice at Baker Newman Noyes. She has more than 25 years experience in the healthcare industry. Gina specializes in medical medical record review, documentation analysis and improvement and provider and staff education. She brings a wide range of experience, such as billing and coding education, chart auditing, billing and coding compliance, provider-based practice billing and coding, chargemaster reviews, risk adjustment documentation and coding, FQHC/RHC billing and coding, and outpatient clinical documentation improvement.
Gina has been with the firm since 2013, having previously managed the billing compliance and medical audit functions, and conducted educational sessions, for a major New England hospital system. She was also previously employed as the director of the Coding Center, which provided chart auditing services, on-site coding education programs, and coding certification courses. She has spoken at national, regional and local conferences on topics such as billing and coding, risk adjustment and documentation and improvement.
She earned a master’s degree in business administration from Thomas College. She has earned the designation of Certified Professional Coder with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and is certified in healthcare compliance with the Health Care Compliance Association. Gina is a Certified Instructor through the American Academy of Professional Coders. She has obtained a number of credentials through the AAPC and credentialing as a certified risk adjustment coder through the AAPC, along with ACDIS CDI Apprentice credential through the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist.
