Nancy Hawes, CPA

Managing Director

I am semi-retired and am reluctant to fully retire because I love working with my clients and colleagues at BNN, and I enjoy coming to work each day. BNN has been a great career for me and I have loved working here (but I am also enjoying the time off to take more yoga classes and ice skate!).

Nancy began with Baker Newman Noyes when the firm was founded in 1995, having previously worked at one of our predecessor companies since 1988.  She is a managing director in the firm’s tax practice specializing in serving financial institutions, manufacturers, small businesses and employee benefit plans.

Nancy earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire, as well as an M.A. and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in Audiology.  Prior to her accounting career, Nancy spent time as an audiology professor.

She completed Accounting coursework at Auburn University and the University of Massachusetts.

Three Things You Don’t Know About Me:

  • The most beautiful place I’ve ever been is Moraine Lake in the Canadian Rockies.
  • I go to the New Hampshire Highland Games at Loon Mountain every year.
  • I used to coordinate Rotary exchange students coming to Maine from all over the world and really enjoyed getting to know them and learn about their cultures.
