BNN gives back in May!

BNN was out and about in the community in May! At the beginning of the month, some of our Portland audit team spent a morning at Maine Needs, an organization that provides essentials to those struggling in the community. The team sorted and organized donations to help fulfill requests.
On May 8, BNN sponsored and attended the Kids First Center’s 2025 Gala. The Kids First Center’s mission is to provide co-parenting education to families, ensuring that children grow up in environments filled with love, support, and healthy communication.
“There are so many worthy causes we can support in our close community and it’s easy to find one that touches your heart. I feel very fortunate in my life so there is no reason for me not to give back by volunteering my time, my skills and my resources. It’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of others and making meaning full changes, together,” said BNN Tax Principal and KFC treasurer, Céline Couillaut.

Some of our Portland tax administration team attended the Blue Wrap Project Runway, the Partners for World Health humanitarian fashion extravaganza, on May 15! The show displays brand new designs inspired by the traditional dress of partner countries, all while raising awareness and urgently needed funds for our environmental and humanitarian mission.
Nancy Hawes, BNN Tax Director, said, “PWH’s mission is such a no-brainer – collecting tons of medical “waste” (actually unused and perfectly good!) from hospitals and sending it to countries such as Ukraine, Sudan, Syria and many more where the supplies are vitally needed. I really appreciate BNN’s commitment to community service and look forward to getting a group of BNN-ers out to their facility to help with processing medical supplies.”
BNN organized a team to participate in the American Heart Association’s 2025 Maine Heart Walk on May 18. Funds raised are used to grow the American Heart Association’s work and impact.

On the third day of BNN’s Culture and Career Summit, the BNN team volunteered at the New Hampshire SPCA, helping to clean up the animal shelter. “Helping out at NHSPCA made me feel more connected to our community through teamwork and shared goals,” said Tax Senior, Jason Innerfield. “Seeing the smiles and gratitude from the NHSPCA was priceless. I felt that we really made a difference together!”
We are only as strong as the communities we serve. Whether participating in a fundraiser, serving on a nonprofit board, partnering with a local school, volunteering to clean up a local park, or serving food at a shelter, we strive to be a meaningful part of our communities. Employees throughout BNN answer the call to “give back” through participation and leadership in our hometowns.

“BNN’s dedication to community service, whether that is individually, or built into our different programs and events, means a great deal to me and is an area I’m very thankful for!” Jace Baker, Talent Coordinator, said. “Being able to spend time with colleagues from different offices and departments in a meaningful way, knowing that our volunteer efforts are encouraged and supported, makes the experience even more fulfilling.”
