Baker Newman Noyes Continues to Earn National Accolades for Growth

BOSTON, Mass., MANCHESTER and PORTSMOUTH, N.H., and PORTLAND, Maine – On the heels of several successful mergers and expansions, Baker Newman Noyes (BNN) is pleased to be named among the nation’s top 100 U.S. accounting firms by INSIDE Public Accounting for 2016. Ranking at 94, this is the first year BNN has earned the IPA Top 100 distinction, having previously made the list of the top 200 firms each year since the rankings began in 2010.

“The gap between the largest firm and the smallest of the IPA Top 100 continues to grow,” said INSIDE Public Accounting principal Mike Platt in a press release. “The biggest firms are getting bigger through acquisitions and organic growth – as all firms continue to find ways to service the increasingly complex needs of their clients, and provide meaningful career opportunities for their employees.”

For the most recent fiscal year, IPA Top 100 firms ranged in size from $34.6 million to $16.1 billion, and from 1 to 108 offices worldwide. According to the IPA 100 Report, organic growth of the nation’s top accounting firms (which excludes the effects of mergers) is strong at 7.5%, its strongest since 2008. The full report and list of IPA Top 100 firms can be found here.

“Baker Newman Noyes has achieved incredible growth in just a few short years. As a team, we successfully accomplished five major office expansions and three mergers, all while retaining and expanding our global client base,” said Carl Chatto, managing principal of Baker Newman Noyes. “We appreciate the IPA’s continued recognition of our efforts to grow while faithfully serving the needs of our clients.”

Since 1987, INSIDE Public Accounting has been one of the most thorough, complete and well-respected sources of industry analysis for CPA firms in the U.S. Now in its 26th year, the much-anticipated IPA Top 100 ranks firms by net revenue, starting with the Big 4, followed by the top 96 national, regional and local accounting firms in the country.
