Rick Cyr, CPA

Rick is an assurance principal at Baker Newman Noyes and provides leadership to the firm as the director of assurance services and member of the Management Committee. He specializes in serving financial institutions, insurance companies, commercial businesses, quasi-governmental agencies, and employee benefit plans. He joined BNN in 1999.

Clients turn to Rick for help with complex internal control design and implementation and FDICIA and COSO reporting. With more than 20 years of experience, Rick has focused a large part of his practice on the banking industry and has a wealth of knowledge about the challenges affecting financial institutions of all sizes.

In his role as director of assurance, Rick oversees the entire BNN assurance practice. He is responsible for more than 100 professionals across five offices who provide financial audits and reviews, internal controls assessments, employee benefit plan audits, and risk assurance and information systems services to clients large and small in a variety of industries. As a leader, Rick’s approach highlights transparent communication and teamwork to best serve the firm, our clients, and communities.

Rick earned a bachelor’s degree, with highest distinction, in business administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of Maine. In addition to his other roles, Rick is also involved with the firm’s efforts to recruit new employees from colleges throughout New England.
