Matthew is a principal in the tax practice at Baker Newman Noyes with extensive experience in tax consultation, planning, and advisory services for closely-held businesses and their owners, as well as real estate and private equity syndicators. Matthew serves a variety of businesses types, including partnerships, S-Corporations, and C-Corporations, as well as companies with multi-state and international operations. He also has experience serving high-net-worth individuals and estate and trusts.

With more than 20 years of experience in tax and accounting, Matthew helps companies of all sizes strategically navigate complex tax matters, particularly related to operating agreements, entity selection and tax structuring, equity compensation arrangements, business succession planning, and mergers and acquisitions transactions. Clients turn to Matthew for his technical knowledge and dedicated approach to serving clients. He frequently represents clients throughout IRS and state tax examinations.

Prior to joining the firm, Matthew served on the tax team of an accounting and financial advisory firm located in the greater-Boston area.

Matthew earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting, with a concentration in philosophy, from Central Connecticut State University and master’s degrees in accounting and taxation from the University of Hartford.
