John Hurley brings more than 20 years of experience in human resources to his role as BNN’s chief people officer. In this position, he strives to support the firm’s mission through innovative talent management and an enhanced employee experience. His expertise includes organizational development; change leadership; supporting mergers, acquisitions, and integrations; and delivering high impact human capital strategies.

John has worked in a variety of industries including software and technology, education, and professional services. Throughout his career, John gained experience in all facets of human resources, and has demonstrated success in driving business results through talent.

Prior to joining BNN, John served as the senior director of human resources and employee relations at an educational software company outside Boston. Serving as an HR leader, he developed comprehensive talent strategies and established an employee relations function to ensure high levels of employee engagement and the highest standards of fairness, empowerment, meritocracy, and accountability.

John earned a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, and a master’s degree in business administration from Boston College.

Three Things You Don’t Know About Me:

  • Waterskiing is a passion, including slalom, barefoot, and pyramids.
  • I once had personal contact with a bear in the wild (and never want to again!)
  • I have visited 45 states and 31 countries, and seek out every opportunity to explore more.
