Washington update
We had hoped by now to be able to provide readers with some meaningful reconnaissance from Washington regarding the current coronavirus stimulus package Congress is working on, but negotiators appear to be in a lengthy stalemate, with little or nothing agreed upon. With some significant earlier programs expiring (like federal unemployment benefits and the PPP loans), President Trump has threatened to take unilateral action if Congress doesn’t act quickly, but it is unclear what that action will be, given his limited authority relative to lawmakers. We will update you when there is something to report.
