David Lawler joins Baker Newman Noyes as Managing Director

Baker Newman Noyes is pleased to announce the hiring of David Lawler as Managing Director of Technology Advisory Services, a new leadership role in the firm’s Business & Technology Advisory Practice that provides strategic business, technology, and management consulting services for organizations of all sizes and across industries.

Lawler has two decades of experience supporting technology functions at organizations. As a results-driven advisor and technology leader, he thrives on continuous improvement and innovation. His approach is rooted in collaboration and knowledge sharing to facilitate informed decision making at all levels within an organization. Lawler’s experience ranges from partnering with executives at a large manufacturing client to develop an enterprise technology strategy, including improvements to cybersecurity, to advising a professional services firm on optimizing technology and security principles amidst organizational growth. Prior to joining BNN, Lawler served as a Systems Engineer at a global cybersecurity firm and as the Director of Engineering for a nationwide managed security service provider.
BNN’s Advisory Practice delivers tailored solutions and guidance focused on optimizing business strategy, technology strategy, process, and governance. The team excels at effectively aligning these core functions to improve business operations and drive revenue through digestible transformation. Their approach is based on breaking down silos, prioritizing communication and transparency, and delivering actionable plans and solutions to clients. They help clients with C-suite and executive consulting, IT assessments and strategy, business process enhancement and redesign, system selection and implementation, business strategy, and tailored program and project management services to clients across industries.
As Managing Director of Technology Advisory, Lawler will coordinate with BNN’s business advisory specialists to deliver effective service and actionable solutions to the firm’s clients. He is responsible for managing the firm’s technology advisory offerings, including providing interim CIO/CISO services for clients, helping clients align their organizational goals with actionable technology strategies, creating detailed technology roadmaps to guide clients’ technology investments and initiatives, and developing and implementing robust cybersecurity policies and procedures.
Lawler holds a bachelor’s degree in network engineering from Central Connecticut State University. He serves as an instructor and coach for the Biddeford Youth Hockey Association. Lawler lives with his family in Saco, Maine.
