Accounting Standards Update (ASU) No. 2015-07, Disclosures for Investments in Certain Entities That Calculate Net Asset Value per Share (or Its Equivalent), was released in May of this year. This update requires specific investments that have fair value reported at net asset value per share to no longer be classified in the fair value hierarchy footnote.

Hospitals were blindsided by a portion of the Treasury department’s final rule, issued on December 29, 2014, regarding the 501(r) requirements for inclusion of a provider list in a hospital’s financial assistance policies (FAP).
