May 7, 2008 - Baker Newman Noyes is pleased to announce the following new employees.

In the Tax Division:

Sonia Brooks, Tax Manager returns to the firm after working briefly at the Woodlands Club in Falmouth. Sonia originally began with BNN in 1998

Dave Martines, Heather Blanchette and Natalie Sotoloff, Tax Staff were hired after working with the firm as interns during the 2008 tax season.

Dave previously worked at Neuberger Berman Private Asset Management in New York City; he recently completed his MBA at University of Southern Maine. Heather previously worked as a Business Development intern at Consigli Construction in Massachusetts. Natalie recently graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law, Hartford, CT.

Duy Nguyen, Tax Senior most recently worked as a Senior Associate at Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Boston.

Kimberly Janelle Voted United Way Campaign Coordinator of the Year

Baker Newman Noyes, CPAs is proud that Kimberly Janelle of our Manchester, NH office has been voted one of six 2007 United Way Campaign Coordinators of the Year by the Heritage United Way in New Hampshire.

The Loaned Executives and Campaign Team indicated how impressed they were and how easy Kim was to work with. The Manchester office achieved 100% participation in the 2007 campaign.

Tim has worked with BNN and its predecessor firms since 1988. Karl joined BNN in 2004 after working for a large international firm in Boston. Tim and Karl work in BNN’s Tax Division.

Roland Mercier Testifies in Dirigo Health Offset Payment Determination

On Monday September 17, 2007 the acting Superintendent of Insurance for the State of Maine approved the determination of savings by the Dirigo Health Agency Board of Directors. The approved saving totaled $32.8 million and was less than one-half of the amount originally found by the Dirigo Health Board of Directors.

The Maine State Chamber of Commerce was an intervenor in the proceedings, and Roland Mercier, Healthcare Management Consultant Division Principal of Baker Newman Noyes in our Portland, ME office was an expert witness playing a pivotal role in reducing the savings determination.

Baker Newman Noyes – 2007 Softball Champions !

On Thursday August 30, 2007 the softball team from Baker Newman Noyes became the champions of the Gorham Co-ed Recreational Softball League after winning four straight playoff games to take the title!

The championship team consists of Kristin Brown, Jason Emery, Erica Defosses, Lindsay White, Matt Prunier, Charlie Corbett, Steve Palleschi, Matt Vasil, Dustin Freeman, Keith Morin, Julie Sulzberger, Jamie Richio, Travis Bouchard, Jim McLean, Stephanie Berg, and Shannon Hall.

The team was also supported by significant others, friends, and other BNN employees who cheered them on!
