Our Mission StatementBaker Newman Noyes is a growing profitable firm of excellent professionals, who enrich their lives by adding value to their clients and their communities through innovative and responsive service State and Local (SALT) Tax Manager Baker Newman Noyes is seeking an individual to manage multiple and challenging engagements. Clients range from major corporations already operating in multiple taxing jurisdictions to small businesses planning their first foray across state lines. You will provide practical guidance on establishing new ventures and contracts, structure transactions in a tax-efficient manner, manage audit exposure and provide audit defense, and maintain compliance with tax regulations. You will network extensively with existing and prospective clients. You will also interact with peers in an international network of accounting firms, and assume a high degree of responsibility and exposure within our firm. You should have, at a minimum, a BA/BS degree and be a C.P.A. or have an Enrolled Agent Certification, or similar relevant designation. It is preferred that you also have a MS in Taxation or JD / LLM in Taxation. You will need a strong technical background as a result of at least eight years of overall tax experience and a preference of five or more years of SALT specific experience. This experience should be within a professional services firm or industry and should include both income taxes and sales/use taxes. You will need to be able to aggressively market our services to existing and prospective clients. Your client service orientation combined with creative problem solving skills, and strong written and oral skill will be vital in this position.
