What are my distance study options at Baker Newman Noyes?
The CPC Medical Coding Course at BNN is 100% online for your convenience. Through online study you will access your study guides and online course materials from your computer. 

BNN will host periodic live web-ex sessions for students to participate. Web-ex sessions will be scheduled based on demand. Students will have unlimited access to healthcare consultants to answer class-related questions.

How much time does it take to complete the course?
BNN gives you up to six (6) months from the date of your enrollment to complete your studies. Access for additional months may be requested on an individual basis for an added access fee per month.

How much time per week should I expect to spend in order to complete the course in six (6) months?
While everyone has unique styles of learning, it is estimated that students spend 10-15 hours per week completing assignments, studying and/or practicing coding throughout this course.

Will I have to attend any classes in person?
No. BNN’s program is offered 100% online.

Do I need any special equipment or software in order to complete the online course?
All you need is a computer with access to the internet and Microsoft Office software.

I’ve been out of school for a long time. Will I have trouble with the on-line course?
That depends, but we’ll help you if you do. Our instructor(s) are available to assist you with your coursework and guide you through the program. We are committed to the success of our students.

What do I need to do in order to enroll?

How soon after enrolling can I start my first course?
You won’t have to wait at all! BNN’s program is available on an open enrollment basis, so there’s no waiting for a new session to begin. You can get started anytime and progress through your studies independently, at your own pace.

Once you’ve decided, simply fill out our enrollment application.

Within seven (7) business days of receiving your completed application and processed payment in full, we’ll send your course textbook and study materials, which are included in your enrollment fee.

Do you offer any student loans at BNN?
No, BNN does not offer student loans. If you are an employee seeking additional education, we recommend you review opportunities within your organization for assistance.

Are there any other fees I will need to pay?
At BNN, we keep your fees to a minimum. Your enrollment fee includes course, text book and national certification exam fee. Additional cost may include AAPC membership fees and code books for those who are not currently a member and do not have current books. Course fees, including course materials are non-refundable.

What is your cancellation policy?
Course fees, including course materials are non-refundable once payment has been processed in full.

How will I receive my course and study materials?
Once payment has been received and processed in full, course materials are sent directly to you within seven (7) business days via mail, Fed-ex or UPS. Online access will also be made available.

How will assignments, exams and grading be handled?
You will have access to a variety of course assignments (including quizzes, lectures, practical applications and exams) online. Most assignments will be graded instantly and automatically. Exams and quizzes are taken online and grades are posted immediately. All grades and assignments are maintained in your confidential student folder.

Who can I contact if I’m having difficulty with my studies?
You can call or email your instructor at any time. This way you’re never alone in trying to find answers to the questions that will help you succeed.
